He kept us moving, kept us laughing, and was full of expressions! He loves trains, so we took him to the tracks in town to explore the real life cars. After the session, Grandma even had a special surprise to add to his collection. Thanks guys, we had a lot of fun! Vacationers had their spots picked out in the dunes with their lawn chairs, coolers and shades. We could smell the breakfast cooking along the channel and were tempted to hang out at the beach after the session... it seemed like the perfect start to a relaxing holiday weekend. We could tell the Grilleys were going to have a ton of fun together and are glad to have been a part of their day! There was no beating the humidity, though! We found some great textures by the tracks and then found some relief in the air conditioning:) Wed Jul 16 18:28:00 -0700 2008 http://studiok2photography.bigfolioblog.com/weblog/post/53567 http://studiok2photography.bigfolioblog.com/weblog/post/53567 Kim Knauf Jenna-'08 Jenna was our first senior this season! If all of our seniors are as sweet as she is, we'll have an awesome time this summer. We had a lot of fun getting to know her and her dad who came along, and we created some great images. When I told her we had some new furniture that we wanted to try out in portraits she was willing to play along. I had her dig way back in her closet to find a couple formal dress that would work well with an antique chair we just bought. With her help, the image turned out just the way I imagined it. We also went downtown GR for a little "urban grunge". If you know Dianna, ask her which unique location was used for her final portrait - she has a great sense of adventure :) Kim Sat Jul 12 08:27:00 -0700 2008 http://studiok2photography.bigfolioblog.com/weblog/post/52869 http://studiok2photography.bigfolioblog.com/weblog/post/52869 Kim Knauf Steve & Kallie's Rehearsal Celebration Kim and I attended Steve and Kallie's celebration after rehearsal aboard the Grand Lady. The rain did hold off until after the boat ride, although I don't think it would have stopped this crowd from having a good time! This was a great opportunity for us to meet the family, wedding party, and out of town guests before the wedding. We could tell the next day was going to be a ton of fun and are so glad we had the opportunity to spend time with such a lively crowd. The details were amazing and thoughtful. And the guests, representing 14 different states, were so kind and fun to watch on the dance floor! Thanks for letting us be a part of your day! Orchard Market in Spring Lake had a drawing for 4 tickets to a Detroit Tigers game. I walked by the box without giving it a second thought because, really, who ever wins anything from those drawings?! Well, my husband, Duane, entered and we won!! I'm so glad he did, because we had so much fun. It rained pretty hard for a while, but in typical Michigan fashion, the sun came out 20 minutes later and the game never stopped. I'll admit that Duane and Brendan can give you a play by play account of the whole game while Lauryn and I enjoyed walking around Comerica Park and shopping in all the overpriced shops and just people watching in general. Moral of the story: enter those grocery store drawings. You may get more junk mail or you may get a great prize! You won't know if you don't enter. Kim P.S. Tigers, 4-3 - I did pay that much attention :) Sun Jun 29 08:34:00 -0700 2008 http://studiok2photography.bigfolioblog.com/weblog/post/51028 http://studiok2photography.bigfolioblog.com/weblog/post/51028 Kim Knauf Mark & Lauren, June 22 Mark and Lauren live in Chicago, so we talked on the phone quite a bit before the wedding finalizing details. In talking with them, it was easy to see how sweet and laid back they both are. On their wedding day, they kept tradition and their guests in mind. It was so special to see and hear how much each person means to Mark and Lauren, and likewise, how much Mark and Lauren mean to each person. We had a wonderful time on Sunday and are glad we could sneak outside between raindrops! They have been very organized and very laid back since we've gotten to know them. Everything went perfectly allowing them to focus on their family and friends that clearly love them immensely! It was so much fun to share in the joy of their day! The weather was ideal; comfortable temperature, a blue sky, and of course, the California sun shining bright. As a wedding day should be, it was full of emotions. We laughed, cried, and laughed some more... then we danced until our calf muscles were sore. Kim captured the beautiful moments and details throughout the rehearsal, ceremony, and reception. I attended as a bridesmaid, but couldn't resist taking some photos of my best friend and her new husband:) Here's a few of our favorites! We weren't able to take any outdoor images, but that didn't affect the mood of the day at all. It was a very emotional day. A few tears and lots and lots of laughter. The love that Vince and Janet share is so obvious, but even more, the love they have for their family and friends is amazing! We are so glad we were able to be a part of it. They are both so laid back and easy to be with. Molly's Mom asked if I could sneak in a family portrait while we were at it. I usually prefer to do this in two different sessions, but it worked out pretty good. We were able to use the apple farm that has been in Molly's family for generations. We also went to Dennis' family home and had some fun by the pond. I'm so glad we didn't get rained on! I had to laugh when I drove by the Coopersville High School parking lot this morning. The horizon line looked a little different. I'm not sure if this is a new senior tradition, or just a few guys showing their true colors on their last official day of school. Would this happen anywhere else???
